Accountable Press Visitors
Like other sites, Accountable Press collects information that your browser sends whenever you visit our site.
This information may include your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics. This information is used to analyze patterns of visitor behavior and diagnose potential issues with our site.

Accountable Press uses “cookies” to collect information.

Accountable Press Members
In addition to the above, Accountable Press collects information from members that is displayed publicly on Accountable Press once a member’s site is Certified. This information will include items such as the name, description, URL, email contact, physical address, and other information that a member provides for their publication’s public profile. Information provided for public consumption will be clearly marked as such on submission forms.
Accountable Press also collects certain information that will be kept confidential, such as the name and email address of the person responsible for the submission. Accountable Press not sell, trade, or rent your personal information.
Member subscription payments are handled through PayPal and Stripe.com. Accountable Press does not collect or store credit card numbers or other sensitive financial data of that nature. When members log in, we set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Members may request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
